PSYC 245 - Health Psychology |
An introduction to the biological, psychological, and social factors related to the promotion of health and the prevention of illness. The body’s nervous, endocrine, digestive, and circulatory systems are explored as well as how they can influence and be influenced by exercise, addiction, diet, stress, and social factors. The reciprocal interaction of the mind and body is emphasized. Note: Students cannot receive credit for both this course and PSYC 208 Health Psychology.
Prerequisite: PSYC 101 General Psychology or PSYC 200 Psychology of Development, or sophomore status.
