An analysis of international financial markets from the perspectives of multinational enterprise management and open-economy policy-making. The course provides an in-depth analysis of how financial managers navigate foreign exchange risk and theoretical determinants of exchange rates, including interest rates and price levels. In addition to assessing the risks and benefits for firms and countries participating in global financial markets, this course also provides different financial strategies and tools for managing and mitigating foreign exchange and political risks through the viewpoints of managers and policy-makers.
Prerequisites: ECON 101 Principles of Macroeconomics and one (1) of the following courses: ECON 320 Financial Markets and the Monetary System, or FINA 248 Managerial Finance.
