SOCI 325 - Health and Illness
An examination of sociological research in the study of health, illness, and medical practice. Particular attention is given to social definitions and experiences of health and illness, the incidence and prevalence of illness, the physician-patient relationship, and the organization of health care. Prerequisite: A 100-level Sociology course or ANTH 161 Cultural Anthropology or permission of instructor.
