An examination of the connection between critical literacy, college readiness, and the literacy anchor standards in the new frameworks. Starting from the state’s definition of college and career readiness developed by PARCC campus engagement teams, the course includes discussion of local, national, and international debate about college readiness and remediation, what students themselves say about the transition, what individual teachers and schools can be doing, and the need to involve parents in the readiness discussion beyond the college search.
