ENGL 383 - Contemporary American Fiction |
A study of American fiction since 1945, including writers such as Bellow, DeLillo, Doctorow, Ellison, Morrison, Nabokov, Pynchon, Roth, Tyler, Updike, and Walker. Emphasis is on postmodern narrative experiments and on representations of the self and American experience in the contemporary period. Note: Students cannot receive credit for both this course and 21.379 Contemporary European and American Literature.
Prerequisite: ENGL 204 Literary Study or permission of instructor.
