A study of various modern poets, including Yeats, Eliot, Frost, Robinson, Houseman, Hardy,
and Hopkins. Attention is be given to various theories about the nature and function of modern poetry, particularly where these theories differentiate modern poetry from the poetry of the past. Prerequisite: One graduate English literature course or one undergraduate English literature course at the 200 level or higher.
