An examination of different assessment techniques used by mental health practitioners. Assessments, such as symptom inventories, clinical interviews, self-monitoring, and personality testing, are discussed in light of current research and best practice recommendations. Students read research articles, lead class discussions, write reflection papers, and complete and present a series of class projects, including a final project related to creating a new assessment tool.
