Topics in Advanced Printmaking: Accordions, Sculptural Objects and “Printstallations”--
An exploration of three dimensional possibilities for the printed image. Through a series of exercises that emphasize experimental book forms, armature building, and site-specific space utilization, this course encourages students to break free from the tradition flat print and consider unique solutions to putting the print “in the round.” This course will principally focus on the use of woodcut for image making, but will encourage the use of other print processes based upon student experience.
