NUTR 400 - Preparation for Dietetic Internship (No course credit)
A preparation for applying to a 1000-hour post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship (DI) accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Students meet with the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), get information on DI Open Houses, research available internships, participate in a resume-writing workshop, develop interviewing skills, write a professional personal statement, obtain letters of reference, and gain all information needed for their DI application. This course is open only to students in the Nutrition and Dietetics Concentration of the Food and Nutrition major. Offered Fall semester only. Note: A completed accredited ACEND dietetic internship is required for eligibility to take the national Registration Examination for Dietitians, which earns candidates the RD/RDN credential. Prerequisite: Senior status.
