EASC 101 - Climate Change is Now: An Introduction to Earth Systems |
An introduction to the causes and consequences of contemporary climate change. Designed for students not majoring in the sciences, the course examines how human actions are fundamentally altering the processes which have shaped Earth’s climate over its 4.5 billion-year history. Students consider whether the current generation has a responsibility to leave a habitable climate for the next. They examine the earth system, how that system evolved over time, and how human activities are rapidly changing the climate in which the human species flourished. Students learn how the actions of one generation affect the climate during the lifetimes of subsequent generations.
