LTRC 926 - Discourses of Writing and Writing Instruction |
An exploration of the six research-based discourses of writing and writing pedagogy – skills, process, creativity, genre, social practices, and sociopolitical discourses. An anti-racist writing workshop model positions teachers as writers while engaging in shared learning experiences and instructional practices, especially those geared for racially and linguistically diverse K-12 writers. Topics covered include the writer's notebook, mentor texts, and the design of effective writing lesson plans and assessments.
