LTRC 988 - Practicum in Reading Enrichment with Seminar |
Designed for students seeking the Initial Specialist Teacher License: Reading. This course is a practicum experience requiring 150 full-responsibility hours as a dedicated reading interventionist who provides individualized assessments and intensive instruction to a classroom of students enrolled in a summer program at a partnering school district. Scheduled seminars address practical application of research-based literacy instruction to support elementary-aged readers.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of all requirements for Master of Education with a concentration in Literacy and Language or for post-masters’ Reading Specialist certificate programs; permission of the program advisor three months prior to the Practicum.
