A comprehensive overview of the history, landscape, and tumultuous past of bilingual and dual language education nationally and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Course participants dive into the complicated web of politics, linguistics, race, and power as they explore the background of bilingual education and its various iterations in Massachusetts, as well the non-negotiables of excellent dual language programs, the variables that correspond to the particular PreK-12 student and community demographics and needs.
