CSCI 465 - Operating Systems Internals |
An in-depth coverage of operating system principles and internals such as processes, threads, CPU scheduling, concurrency and process synchronization, deadlock, inter-process communication, memory management, virtual memory, file systems, I/O systems, distributed systems, and protection and security. Several of the concepts are implemented through one or more programming projects.
Prerequisites: Senior status; CSCI 258 Introduction to Operating Systems Using UNIX™, CSCI 352 Computer Architecture and Assembly Language, and CSCI 362 Software Engineering.
