CSCI 460 - Theory of Computing
A proof-based introduction to theoretical computer science and some key applications. Models of computation, including circuits, finite automata, pushdown automata, Turing machines and random-access machines are examined as well as specification of formal languages. Theoretical concepts are applied to programming-language translation. The course includes concepts of interactive, parallel and concurrent computation. Prerequisites: Senior status; CSCI 317 Discrete Structures.
