HSTY 380 - History of Modern Germany
A study of Germany from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Areas of focus may include the Liberal Revolutions of 1848, German unification under Bismarck, the Imperial Era, the two world wars and the Holocaust, West and East Germany during the Cold War, reunification, and Germany's role in the European Union and the world. The roles of racism, fascism, and communism in German history are explored. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing and one (1) 100-level history course; or permission of instructor.
