A study of the social, economic, cultural, and political history of the United Kingdom from the nineteenth century to the present. Topics examined may include the Industrial Revolution, Irish Home Rule, the role of race in British imperialism and de-colonization, as well as the two world wars, the welfare state, Thatcherism, and Brexit.
Prerequisites: Sophomore standing and one (1) 100-level history course; or permission of instructor.
