ENGL 356 - Contemporary Literature from the Islamic World |
A survey of contemporary literature set in a range of Muslim-majority nations during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Authors may include Naguib Mafouz, Orhan Pamuk, Malika Mokedeem, Moshin Hamid, Salman Rushdie, Tahmina Anam, and Marjane Satrapi. Note: Students cannot receive credit for this course and ENGL 398 Studies in World Literature after 1900.
Prerequisite: ENGL 204 Literary Study or permission of the instructor.
