FSHD 342 - Flat Pattern Design |
The study of the theory and application of the flat pattern method used to create patterns for the design of apparel. The drafted master pattern is used to develop a variety of bodices, skirts, sleeves, collars, and shirts. The student applies developed skills in flat patternmaking to create original garments which emphasize design principles, flat sketching, prototype development, fit, and assembly techniques. Note: Design Studio courses meet for five (5) hours per week and consist of four (4) hours of lecture/critique and one (1) hour of studio instruction.
Prerequisites: FSHD 230 Advanced Apparel Construction.
