CFST 333 - Community-Based Education |
An analysis of community-based education and how it functions in diverse contexts. Examples of community-based educational initiatives include GED programs, ESL courses, programs in correctional facilities, health outreach, technical classes, art efforts, and religious instruction. Students analyze the skills of pioneers and leaders who have overseen community-based education initiatives. Students gain exposure to a community-based education program in the local community and reflect on the development, design, and impact of the effort.
Prerequisite: CFST 118 Child, Family, School, and Community: Connections and Collaboration.
