ASGN 321 - American Sign Language: English Interpreting I |
Designed to develop the cognitive and analytical skills required in interpreting (listening for meaning, recall, prediction, closure); paraphrasing and restructuring practice; written, spoken, and signed translation; practice in shifting linguistic register; expansion of English vocabulary; and theoretical models of the interpreting process.
Prerequisites: ASGN 202 Intermediate American Sign Language II with a minimum grade of B (3.00) and DFST 201 Introduction to the Interpreting Profession with a minimum grade of C (2.00); or permission of instructor.
