| GEOG 316 - Advanced Geographical Information Systems |

An advanced course in geographic information systems (GIS). The purpose of this course is to examine how GIS can be used for spatial analysis and modeling applications. The course introduces students to a number of advanced analytical techniques using GIS, including hydrologic modeling, location analysis, spatial interpolation, nearest neighbor estimation, map algebra and urban growth simulation. This course will serve as a required course for the Geography Department¿s Spatial Analysis and Techniques core concentration.
Prerequisite:GEOG 216 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems or permission of instructor.
