CHEM 241 - Introduction to Heat and Mass Transfer
An application-oriented introduction to the theory of heat and mass transfer with a particular emphasis on fluid flow, energy balance, and material balance. The course covers the fundamental principles of heat transfer, including conduction, convection, and radiation, as well as the principles of mass transfer. The theoretical aspects of heat and mass transfer are applied to design heat exchangers and heat transfer equipment. Note: Food Science Majors are not eligible to take this course. Prerequisite: PHYS 201/201L Physics with Applications to Earth and Life Systems with Lab or PHYS 211/211L Principles of Physics I with Lab.
