ENGL 228 - Disability in Literature |
An examination of how people with disabilities have been represented in literary texts. Genres may include folk tales, religious texts, short fiction, essays, memoir, and poetry. The course focuses on social norms and how literature upholds or challenges these standards. Classes are devoted to the discussion of literary works, with a particular emphasis on contemporary American literature.
Prerequisite: ENWR 110 Composition II.
