A sociological exploration of the experiences of the peoples of Latin American and Caribbean heritage living in the contemporary United States (U.S.). The course centers the experiences of Latinx groups to study the development of Latinx identities; the impacts of race, class, and gender on the immigrant experience; the development of Latinx communities in the U.S.; and the integration process of Latinxs into U.S. cultural and political life.
