CSCI 200 - Computer Science Professional Exploration Seminar (0.5 course-credit) |
A required seminar for all computer science majors to prepare them for their future careers. Topics include professional ethics, organizational issues, strategic interviewing techniques, industry research, team roles, oral and written communication skills, as well as other topics relevant to an effective job search and a positive work experience. Students begin developing their portfolios, a focused resume, and a succinct career objective. Students also identify their strengths, weaknesses and career interests in order to maximize the potential of a cooperative education experience, internship, or post-baccalaureate position. This course must be completed prior to participation in a cooperative or internship experience. This course may be waived with one (1) or more years of full-time relevant professional industry experience at the discretion of the department chair. NOTE: Open to Computer Science majors only.
Prerequisite: Sophomore standing.
