ARTS 200 - Drawing Fundamentals
An introduction to the basic concepts and techniques used in drawing. These concepts include, but are not limited to, linear perspective, figure/ground relationships, and composition. Students acquire skills in modeling forms and creating more expressive drawings using a variety of media including pencil, charcoal, and ink. Through group critiques and individual instruction, students develop an understanding of drawing as a practice/process and begin building the foundation of a strong portfolio. Note: Students cannot receive credit for both this course and ARTS 211 Drawing I. Note: This course meets for six (6) hours per week, consisting of four (4) hours of lecture/critique and two (2) hours of studio instruction.
