An introduction to ways visual media are used as communication tools in contemporary society. Students are introduced to design fundamentals, graphic illustrations, photography, typography, political cartoons, advertisements, and multimedia both in print and on screen. Daily newspapers,
weekly magazines, museum collections, and the Internet are used as the primary text.
