ELED 953M - Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment Practices in Teaching Mathematics Grades 1-6 with FS III
An exploration of the elementary mathematics curriculum in Grades 1-6 and the relevant research related to preparing elementary students to teach mathematics to diverse student populations. Elementary students design and implement lessons, including with the use of educational technology, according to research on how elementary age children learn mathematics and investigate the major mathematical concepts. Note: This course requires a field experience of 36 hours. Prerequisites: ELED 942 English Language Arts, Art, Social Studies, and Culturally Responsive Teaching in Grades 1-6 with Field Experience II and TESL 910 Sheltered English Immersion. Corequisite: ELED 953S Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Practices in Teaching Science in Grades 1-6 with Field Experience III.
