CPSY 925 - Psychopathology
An examination of the current paradigms in abnormal psychology in terms of their historical development, current status and the consequences of adopting a particular paradigm. Students analyze assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning procedures. Controversies in classification of abnormal behaviors and diagnostic issues are discussed in terms of the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Prerequisites: CPSY 901 Theories of Psychotherapy and Counseling and CPSY 921 Professional Issues in Counseling and Mental Health.
