EDUC 341 - Elementary Curriculum: Mathematics with Field Study III
A course that prepares pre-service teachers with an opportunity to plan and implement appropriate mathematical experiences for children ages 6 - 12 including those with special needs. Teaching strategies and techniques modeled are consistent with the current mathematics education reform movement. A major focus is learning how to help children construct their own understanding of mathematics through problem solving with manipulative materials and technology. (An elementary field placement one day per week is required.) Prerequisite: EDUC 322 The Child and Literacy with Field Study II. Corequisite: EDUC 346 Elementary Curriculum: Science, Social Studies, and Special Needs.
