CHEM 321 - Instrumental Analysis
An introduction to the theory and application of common chemical instrumentation with associated laboratory. Topics include spectroscopic methods (atomic and molecular absorption and emission, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectrometry), electrochemical methods (potentiometry and voltammetry), and chromatographic methods (GC, HPLC). Students are required to enroll in the corresponding laboratory (4 hours). Prerequisites: CHEM 208 Organic Chemistry II and PHYS 212 Principles of Physics II.
