NUTR 616 - Nutrition and School Nutrition Programs |
A review of basic nutrition principles and dietary recommendations with emphasis on child nutrition, special dietary needs, and prevention of chronic disease. The United States Dietary Guidelines as they relate to personal health and menu planning for school nutrition programs is included. Each student completes and analyzes a three-day personal dietary intake and a five-day school nutrition program menu.
Note: This course requires students to have access to the Internet for course assignments.
