BIOL 320 - Animal Behavior w/ Lab |
A study of the influence of natural selection on the behavior of animals. This course emphasizes the distinction between the immediate causes of behavior, including external stimuli and internal physiological mechanisms, and the ultimate consequences or survival value of behavior. Topics such as learning and instinct, aggression, territoriality, communication, and social behavior are discussed. Students are required to enroll in the corresponding laboratory (3 hours).
Prerequisite: Two (2) biology courses (NEUR 225 Biopsychology can be one of these courses) or permission of the instructor.
