CPSY 925 - Adult Psychopathology
An examination of the current paradigms in abnormal psychology in terms of their historical development, current status and the consequences of adopting a particular paradigm. Students analyze assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning procedures. Controversies in classification of abnormal behaviors and diagnostic issues are discussed in terms of the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Prerequisites: CPSY 901 Theories of Psychotherapy and Counseling, CPSY 911 Orientation to Counseling Practice, CPSY 956 Understanding Social Science Research, and CPSY 964 Advanced Principles of Learning and Development
